I am looking for special needs students, and their parents, to work with in the Montessori method. I have worked with my own children with Montessori materials, and have had good results. Name: Anonymous Category: Support: Autism City: Hutto State: TX Date: 12/26/2008 3:32:51 PM Feedback: 0 Needing an adaptive tricycle My son is a 10 year old boy with Asperger's/ PDD. He has issues with motor planning skills and is very tentative to movement that requires his body to leave the ground. He is a very big boy for his age and I would like for him to have an adult size tricycle that can go over more difficult terrain. These tricycles cost in the area of 350 to 400 dollars. If someone would help us to finance this it would be greatly appreciated. He is a deserving child and needs the exercise so badly. His medication causes weight gain and with his disablity he needs as much exercise as he can get. Thank you for your consideration.

I am also curious if there are any support groups for parents with developmentally delayed children in the SW Fort Worth, TX area.

Name: Jennifer Bussey Category: Services: School City: Anniston State: AL Date: 12/20/2008 11:47:22 AM Feedback: 0 extended school year services I am trying to help children with autism in my state who need extended school year services, but are being unilaterally denied without regard to whether or not they need these crucial services. No children in our area receive ESY and I am talking to parents all over the state who are saying the same thing. I need expert opinions on the need for ESY for our kids and why. Can anyone point me in the right direction. I am working on a letter to the state special education director and this information would be more convincing than just one parent saying my son needs it.
